Celebrating Mums this Mother's Day

Whether you are still lucky enough to have mum around, or time and distance means you are apart, this Sunday we celebrate the unique role of a "mum".
Here at LiberalStyle we are both mum's. Because of this, our role as "mum" always comes first! The love we feel for our children really is unlike anything else on this world. We would move mountains to ensure they are safe and happy. We feel happiest when our kids are laughing and playing, and we feel their pain when they're unwell.
So although we are appreciative every day, today we acknowledge and reflect on how utterly amazing it is to not only be a mum, but also how wonderful our own mothers are!
So we asked around; what does your mum mean to you?
My mum is the most selfless and encouraging person I have ever met! She is supportive and positive, loving and gentle, and nothing ever comes before her children! Having children of my own has definitely given me a different appreciation for my mum, and my children are so lucky to have her as their "Ma" because all those things that she was and still is to me, are also evident in her love for my treasures!by Leah
I really feel like I have the best mum in the world, without question she's always there for me in every way she can be. But the best part is I can tell Mum anything at all, without judgement, she really has been my best friend and confidant over the years. Now, she's the most wonderful Nana to my little girl. I can only hope my daughter and I have the same relationship I have with my mum!by Emma
"My mum has taught me to be myself and in doing so to be kind and the best person you can be. She lead by example in our house, she fed the sick, the lonely and strangers and welcomed them all into our home when I was growing up and she still does it now at 78. She has shown me how to appreciate the simple things in life, to show love in what I do, to forgive and how to be a caring person. Most importantly, says my husband, she taught me how to cook. God gave me an incredible role model and now after all these years a good friend who I am eternally grateful for. #loveyourmum" - IG: @luci_loo71

My mum has always had an edgy street style, wearing structured military style pants and shirts, I can still remember thinking my mum was stylish. Florals and prints were never her thing, so how I came to enjoy this style is unknown, perhaps it is the romantic in me? Mum has always encouraged uniqueness and creation, and taught us to create our own pieces from a young age! I am lucky to have such a wonderful lady as my mum!!
When your mum is also your best friend growing up, you come to really appreciate the emotional support they give you 24/7. Now I live a whole world away from my mum and its probably the hardest part about living in Australia (I'm originally from Scotland!)
While I can still see and talk to Mum (thanks FaceTime!) I do miss those shopping trips where I always get her opinion, as well as using all her makeup and hair products daily! Love you Mum!
